Q. Does the $25.00 Manufacturing Fee cover the total cost of my Spartan Plate?
A. No. that is a one time “manufacturing fee” charged by the State of Georgia for making the plate available. One you pay this fee you will get a receipt and a “relinquishment form” from the MSU Alumni Club of Atlanta that you can take to the DMV to show you have paid.
When you go to the DMV to get your plate you will then pay the following:
- Your annual registration fee of $20.00
- A “Specialty Plate” fee of $35.00
- Local Ad-Valorem fees based on the value of your vehicle.
Q. Can I trade my current plate in for a MSU plate now?
A. Yes. Take your current plate along with the relinquishment form and receipt that the MSU Club of Atlanta provided you to the DMV. The DMV will give you a temporary until your Spartan plate arrives (about 7-10 days).
Q. How can I pay the $25.00 fee? Do you take credit cards?
A. Yes. You can pay via PayPal or Credit Card, above on our Web Site at www.msuatlanta.com.
Q. Can the plate also be a vanity plate. For example can I have LUV*MSU on the plate as well?
A. No, the State is not allowing vanity messages at this time
Q. Does the Spartan Plate last “forever” and can people keep renewing?
Q. How exactly do I order one and receive it?
A. The first step is to fill out the application above and pay the $25.00 fee. The MSU Alumni Club of Atlanta will send you receipt showing the manufacturing fee has been paid. The MSU Alumni Club will also provide you with a relinquishment form. Take these two forms to the DMV and they will order your MSU Spartan Plate. They will provide a temporary plate and mail your Spartan Plate to you when it is ready in 7 to 10 days.
